Conceived c1987 This is Take 13 Mix 21 Recorded July 2010 Sonar 6


My first song ever recorded (in 1988) based entirely on the E major scale & the "Pop Song" chord progression.

Some of the first takes I did of this song on 4 track would have a hellacious amount of bouncing over dubs.

And in a few HIDEOUS takes,TUNED AGOGO'S & COWBELLS (MORE COWBELL!!) from my Korg Drum machine!! 

Until this take here, I had a VERY different drum accompaniment for the "quiet" sections that I never really much warmed up to.

Way WAY too busy stop/start crap on Cymbals & Tom's, not to mention the aformentioned Cowbell s**! 

But finally on this take, in a moment of serendipity,I hit on the driving quarter note sidestick/eighth note hi hat beat (directly inspired by "Fractured Mirror", though a MILLION other songs use this particular rhythm!) 

I don't why I never thought of this for previous takes!!
